About Me

I’ve always been deeply curious about the power of the mind and how and why we behave as we do. This led me to work in the field of applied psychology for many years.

I realised early on in life that our greatest human resource is the mind. It’s the source of the world’s biggest (smallest) problems and the source of all solutions. But it’s hard to do our best thinking, when the mind is cluttered and clarity is compromised.

When insecurity, stress or overwhelm hijacks the senses, we lose perspective. Confidence or compassion goes awol. We stop listening and make poor (or no) decisions. When the mind is more settled, clarity returns. We naturally think more clearly, ideas flow, we listen and connect more deeply. And we’re able to help others do the same.

Back in 2009 my learning took another leap when I began to study the inside-out nature of psychology. It helped to make sense of all the unanswered questions I had about my own experience and that of my clients.

I love to support people from all walks of life and from all over the world…as a mentor, consultant, coach or speaker. I’ve been doing this work for 25 years and every day is still a school day. I love that we can keep learning and be surprised with what we can discover through insight.

I founded the Conscious Leadership School as an alternative to the traditional approach to leadership training. And in our sessions we put aside our perceived ‘roles” and all those labels we hold about ourselves. In that space of just being human, miraculous things happen.

I’ve had the privilege to coach hundreds of people directly and through our seminars.

My passion is helping people to recognise and remove the mental noise and interference that gets in the way of being naturally compassionate, clear headed, creative and courageous. These are some of the innate qualities we come into the world with. And we need them so much right now.

I’ve written two books. The newly published ‘bulletproof: be fearless and resilient – no matter what’, as well as bestselling book ‘Instant Motivation – The surprising truth behind what really drives top performance’.

I also love supporting local resilience, and have helped to set up local community projects. One of these is a thriving community choir – the Sopwell Singers. This was an easy project to set up because I love to sing and what else could be more fun than getting together with an amazing bunch of people and singing and laughing.

I love being in nature, to enjoy the beauty of the simple things.. like taking big walks with friends, with our gorgeous pooches.
